Scuse me ignance, i know nothing of semi hollow bodies. Whats the difference betwixt a Midtown and a 335? Other than dots and split diamond headstock. I kinda sometimes think I should have a semi hollow body, thought maybe a 339.

apples and oranges. 335s are semi hollows, same as a 339. Midtowns are chambered solid bodies. Basically a chambered LP in the shape of a 339.

if they ever put a thick neck on a midtown, I'd probably never buy another 335 or LP.

Gibson has tried this body style (chambered solid body ) many times IIRC from the Pat Martino Custom, Vegas and Johnny A to the "ES" 336, 359, 346 and 446. Some with thicker necks, none were popular. Too bad.

Incorrect, sorta :)

The 346 and 446, Pat Martino (I have one) (also the vegas which I also have) are carved from one piece back. You're correct about the 336 and 359, my bad.

Also the Johnny A standard...

I was going on Gibson's own words on some, guess they can't even get that right. I'll still gladly take one of each. :)
