KISS Announces Final Tour Exclusively on America’s Got Talent

After an epic and storied 45 year career that launched an era of rock n roll legends, KISS announced exclusively on NBC’s America’s Got Talent tonight that they are hanging up their 9-inch tall touring boots. The news was delivered in trademark larger-than-life KISS style with a blistering performance of “Detroit Rock City”, proving why the band is known as one of the most iconic live performances that simply can’t be missed. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers who have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide have toured to nearly every city on the planet and played every venue imaginable. Having played for Kings & Queens, for U.S. veterans, and for millions of devoted KISS Army fans, they will play their final shows as part of the multi-year END OF THE ROAD WORLD TOUR. Dates have yet to be announced but KISSonline.com will have all the updates in the weeks to come.

"All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who've filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years. This will be the ultimate celebration for those who've seen us and a last chance for those who haven't. KISS Army, we're saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we'll go out the same way we came in... Unapologetic and Unstoppable," said KISS

The last time... until the next time.
I remember the 1996 Farewell tour. 22 years ago.

Simmons will hire 3 more look-alikes to go out and Karoake and keep the checks rolling in. He loves money way too much to ever quit the bRand that is KISS

Not much different than most legacy bands these days.
I hope they have either Kulick brothers and Ace open.

This years Kiss Kruise should be epic

As with other passing fads of the 70s, KISS will now finally join lava lamps, fondue sets, the Uncandle, Pet Rocks, Evel Knievel action figures, the 8-track tapes, mood rings, Wacky Packages, Weebles, Stretch Armstrong, Slime, Simon, Action Jackson, Big Jim, Shrinky Dinks, Lite-Brite, Big Wheels and the Easy Bake Oven in the eternal wasteland of nostalgia.

All you left out were Mr. Machine, Davy Crockett coonskin caps, the hula hoop, the pet rock, Metrecal, The Munsters, G.I. Joe, Twister, 7-Up's "Uncola Underground," salad shooters, the New York World's Fair 1964-65, onion gum sold on the inside back page of comic books, Wish-Nik trolls, girls pasting pictures on black lunchboxes and shellacing them orange to use as purses, the Magic 8 Ball, Monster Magnet, Hippety Hop jump balls, electric knives, Veep, Fresca, love beads, pop rocks, clogs, Earth Shoes, Da Fonz, The Rocky Horrible Picture Show, Velvet Elvis, Elvis impersonators, the Cabbage Patch Kids, Buzz Lightyear, Star Wars, Rubik's Cube, jelly shoes, Miami Vice, koosh balls, Furbies, hacky sack, gigapets, zip drives, the macarena, crocs, and the Segway (except for some security guards and street cops) . . .

As for Kiss? Go. Just . . . go. At last.

I am one who grew up on Kiss. The first lick I learned on guitar was God of Thunder. My cousin was 4 years older than me and had a Les Paul Artisan and a Marshall. He gave me the first album I ever had, Alive. He died about 8 years ago, after being hit by a train 10 years prior. So, the music has some personal meaning to me.

I'll go see this Farewell tour, just like I saw the one in 96' and when they came again. Don't remember that year very well.

KISS is the reason I play guitar. If not for that band, at that time, with that look, I would not be on this forum. Ace is why I have coveted the Gibson Les Paul. Paul was my first favorite in the band, but that quickly changed to Ace once I saw who was soloing in "Shout It Out Loud." This band is important to me.

It is time...Truth is, it was time a long time ago.

Paul's voice was shot 15 or 20 years ago, and he probably blew it out during the first Farewell tour. Paul was one of the better front men in rock. He wrote/co-wrote some pretty iconic songs that we'll always raise our fist to. This forum debated his contributions on guitar not long ago, and as far as I am concerned, he's a pretty good player, who, again, wrote and played some pretty iconic riffs. In 8" heels, spandex, sequins and make up. With explosions going off all around him. On stages all over the world. He's a guitar guy, too. He's owned some damn fine original 'Bursts, and I've usually dug his signature guitars, especially the Iceman series guitars. The Washburn and Silvertone guitars, not-so-much, but I suspect those were done thanks to a lot of influence from Gene.

My avarice toward Gene is well documented; he's money grubbing scum, and I personally wouldn't waste the piss to put him out if he were on fire in my front yard.

Gene has said that KISS could exist after he and Paul have moved on, and I agree with @Malikon; he won't let the entity that is KISS stop the deposits to his account. From about 1977 on, money has driven KISS, and I predict that will continue. Gene will license the logo, costumes, makeup, songs, stage show, pyrotechnics, and get a piece of every little thing associated with the entity that is/was KISS forever (and probably already has). There will be only one KISS tribute band actually "authorized" and allowed to play their music.

I will pay attention, but I won't contribute another penny to Gene's account.
