The joys of being an uncle...

i have a 6 year old niece and im bombarded daily with requests to play miley cyrus and jonas brothers... so i look up some tabs and learn the stuff for her and it makes her day... not so much for me lol

so do any of you guys have to learn things you don't like to make the little ones happy?

btw the weather sucks in northwest Georgia right now, tornado warnings, flooding, the whole 9 yards. hope y'all are fairing better than us.

i try.. i play her some ac/dc and gnr and all other hard and classic rock i know... she said its too loud.

when she's old enough to understand the guitar, which is pretty soon, i plan on teaching her.

i hope so, she is the sweetest little girl. she's really smart and learns fast. maybe she can teach me a few things on the strings one day.

I have a great relationship with my nieces, (all 11 of them)
they would do anything for me and visa versa.
I helped raise two of my neices for two years in San Diego
its a good thing

Yeah my uncle used to take me rides on the motorcycle and get me into R rated movies when I was younger.

i also have a 2 year old nephew, he raises hell alot for his age. one he gets older i'll teach him the tricks of the trade lol. buying him stuff taking him places. its great.

i was never really close with any of my uncles.

My avatar is of my two and a half year old son Nicolas snapping off some Wiggles licks. Truly! I had the Wiggles DVD on & little Nic picked up his guitar to play along.

Oh, & I've learned & sung (badly) Puff the Magic Dragon, The Wheels on the Bus, Yellow Submarine & countless other kiddie classics to sing for Nic & his sister. I have to say that they're probably THE most appreciative audience I've ever performed to. Gotta love little kiddies - I have 4 so I must.

I had alot of fun with my Uncles when i was a kid,
they would let me have a little more fun that say mom
and dad would. I think they loved being a kid with us.
The first time i drove a Go-Cart was with my uncle bud,
he also had a Minibike when they first came out.
My other uncles took me hunting and fishing
Bud also took me to work one day and let me drive the
road grader, he worked for the highway department, that
was a blast driving that thing
