I'll go first:

(Continued from my other thread in the 'other single cuts' section.)

A friend of mine just text me this photo today, of me and my GY 59 (Angel) from last Saturday night.

:hmm: I hope he was using photo-shop or something, cuz Its kinda freaking me out.

IMG_4401_zpsaaxlcl16.jpg

He has another shot and says that "the same orbs are coming off of my guitar" in that pic, too.

Any thoughts as to what the **** this is? Something on the camera/Iphone? A practical joke? Is there anyway to tell if the photo has been edited with softwear? Has anything like this happened to you?

Just for fun (but not really :eek2:) feel free to chime in, on your thoughts or any ghostly type experiences that YOu may have had, with 'the other side'!

Take a seat, while I stoke the fire, grab yer favorite blankey, a cold one or a cup of Joe, and join in

'THE GHOST STORY THREAD'!. :naughty:

just a lens flare...

my house creaks and sometimes. I hear creaking down the hallway, not just "oh did I hear something? no, im imagining it..." but very distinct foot step patterns, I get up and no one is there and im home alone.

my friends and I went to look for the "13 steps to hell" here in Washington not too long ago. we parked on the side of a highway and and hiked up a hillside to a make shift trail. we followed it but it was basically a maze. after about 10 minutes we got split up and my friend and I were pacing the woods by ourselves trying to find our lost friends. she was getting tired and it was getting dark so we doubled back and ended up in someones backyard :laugh2:

we didn't find the cemetery but my friends claim to have gone there before and that it was cemented over, which is consistent with the folklore of the place.

if you are unfamilliar here is the story.

I have been on the Haunted Mansion ride at three different Walt Disney Land/Worlds hundreds of times so with all of those ghosts following me home, I am glad they have not taken over my house. And also glad I don't have to feed them.

As someone with a genuine interest in the subject, and as a ghost hunting hobbyist, my first reaction was... "shutter lag". I've seen it in low-light situations. The camera shutter stays open a little too long and you get an effect similar to a picture of a highway at night where the road is crisp and clear, but the car lights are long blurred strips of lights. The anomaly in your pic appears to be in a pattern that would match your arm movements during an exaggerated strum motion… perhaps in the style of Pete Townsend. We caught such a picture of my drummer’s wife dancing around a fire just a few months ago.

However... that was just my first reaction. Upon closer inspection, a few things stand out. First, either the swirling pattern is quite large, or it’s closer to the camera than it looks. Then I noticed that one little wisp crosses in front of the mic boom and cord. You can see the boom and chord “through” it. Last, if it’s a case of shutter lag, I would expect to see streaks associated with your tuning pegs, since they’re light colored against a dark background… but I’m not seeing any of that. Shutter lag is starting to seem less likely.

Finally… as a rational individual, I had to consider the obvious… a droplet of liquid on the camera lens? Are there pics shot immediately before/after this one that don’t have anything weird on them?

I’m pretty cautious about labeling anything paranormal… and it's pretty rare that I find something that can't be explained... but at this point, without knowing anything else I would at least label this one under… “interesting”.

Not as careful as I ... as I call 'em all complete and utter BS.

Which is actually kinda an odd statement being as I am fairly openly a Christian, which sorta implies ghosts. :dunno:

Just how I roll ... mostly confused.

LOL... yeah, everyone's got their own way of seeing the world. Maybe it's that combination of nature and nurture. I had so many varying perspectives growing up. My father is extremely scientific and skeptical of... well... pretty much anything he can't see for himself. My grandmother on my mother's side was almost something of a witch, but studied Christianity, Buddhism and other religions. I've got Christians, Jews, atheists, agnostics and even some I would classify Pagan or Wiccan that were part of my personal history, and the oddest part was they all got along. I never remember any of them being too harsh on the others for believing differently. I guess it all just forced me to keep my mind open to any possibility. :D

It looks very distinctly like a thumb print, as you can make out the ridges within the skin in a circular pattern.

My iPhone does this also. The camera on the back (not the touch screen side) takes foggy pictures that lack sharpness. It shows some haze throughout the image, while the camera on the touch screen side of the phone is significantly sharper, without any noticeable haze.

Either you, your Les Paul, or the room is possessed. If you got paid for the gig, its the room. If you can play things on that guitar that you cannot on other guitars, its the guitar. If you can play guitar and sing at the same time, its you.

Well, before this gets locked up....;)
I first sailed aboard a 50yo buoy tender in the USCG. Being the NFG, I got the "Gunner's Rack", which was the bed in which an old Gunner's Mate checked out a .45 and one round from the armory. The dent from that round is on the bulkhead next to the pillow.
There had been numerous sightings of him walking around the decks at night. I never saw it and wouldn't care anyway.
There have been some live people who've made me reconsider what I was thinking ;), but dead folks don't scare me at all.

I have heard a few stories from a friend about something that went on in his house. The dog would bark down a hall way when no one was there. The dog would act strange and seem to be looking a someone or something. He daughter saw people standing around bed a few times. Strange noises in the house.

I myself have never seen anything paranormal. I did see something that I couldn't explain once in the sky that I watched and it didn't move like a plane of a helicopter.
It was something that I watched go up and down threw a cloud bank in a vertical fashion. It would go threw the cloud up then down about 3 times. Every time it appeared from the clouds it would sit still for a few then moved again. Then it went into the clouds and I never saw it again. This was in the 60 when I was a young teen. I watched it for about 5-10 mins.

Actually it was taken from my buddy's Ihone. I will ask him tomorrow, to show me all the pics he took that night, before and after (GREAT IDEA!!!) and report back ASAP!

Thanks for your contribution and expert observations! :thumb:
