I don't care what anyone else plays, and see my own guitars as purely personal choices- don't care one way or the other what anyone else thinks of them. Same with amps and other gear.

I think it's sad and lame that people will take a dump on other people's NGDs or whatever.

The only cork I sniff is for Kramers and Charvels... And I like the stuff most other fans don't.:)

Preach on dude! I love some Charvel action.

This has been a great thread to go back and read, but in the end we all still love what we love and that's the most important thing.

I've made a few mistakes here on the fourm about this or that. Mostly those that modify a perfectly good, new guitar. But I've also been educated about why they do that and now am inclined to do so myself on minor things such as knob replacement and such. I don't mess with electronics much as i am happy with the way they sound overall. But, in past years i have done a few of those too.
So, at least i can admit that here to the world. Sob..I am sorry guys..sniff..sniff..really sorry out there.
I have been educated here and it is a fantastic forum with many that know allot more about this stuff than i do.

Peace

Singing Kumbaya every time somebody posts a NGD is pretty boring too. A buyer does get deluded by his new purchase and it is the observer's duty to pop the bubble of his delusion. It is called the objectivity of the observer. Can one be a dick for doing so? Possibly but the unvarnished truth does hurt aka the emperor has no clothes on.

Cork-sniffing moment but if you're going to use a word, at least spell it correctly. It is spelt "POSEUR", not "poser". Poseur - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'd consider it rude if someone who hadn't even touched my guitar deigned to lecture me about its shortcomings. Such presumptuousness borders on arrogance and has no place in a celebration, to my mind.

Everyone has different tastes and different budgets. I'm as genuinely happy for someone who loves the new inexpensive guitar he bought as I am for the guy who bought two new custom shop models this week. It's not an observer's duty to pop his bubble. We'll leave that to the douches.

Again, I'm not complaining about them. I'm complaining about those who call them posers and say negative stuff about their guitars. They are the cork-sniffers that annoy me most.

I'm not sure I would call them cork-sniffers. To me a cork-sniffer is one who looks down their nose at anything that isn't a Murphy aged R9 (or whatever). You know, the ones who are pretentious about their guitars and think everything else is inferior. I don't know what to call the people you are referring to, but I am not sure cork-sniffer is the right term for them.

We're all cork sniffers about something, it could be as simple as I wouldn't bang that with your D*** or I'll never go there again, their service sucks (ie doesn't meet our standards) The reality is everyone is sniffy about something.
