The box that contained the thing, and the thing, thanks Amazon.

I twice recently had an Amazon box that was probably 12x9x8”

Watch battery inside.

In one, the battery blister pack had slid under the flaps. I thought the box was empty.

Oh, and I got a one-piece rifle cleaning rod once. When I saw the outer box at my door I thought “I don’t remember ordering a sofa”.

An actual box????

From Amazon???

Wow... I haven't seen one of those in forever. They ship everything in those fucking blue and white plastic (fuck the turtles, right Jeff?) envelopes. :laugh2:

Or, it it is really fragile, in one of those brown paper envelopes.

An actual box, you say? Wow!

My kid recently received from Amazon a large heavy hard-cover 'Limited Edition" book (about 10X14 X 3 inches thick) that had absolutely no packaging at all. The book was shrink wrapped in cellophane. That was it. Amazon slapped an address label with bar code on it.
Of course it was damaged.
He returned it and the next one came in a box with the air-bubble packs.

Last Xmas I ordered a sweater. I received a golf shirt in a different color. Returned for replacement. They sent back the exact same golf shirt.

I forget which Amazon order got screwed up, but what I received in Glace Bay N.S was a pair of women's shoes for an address over 3000 miles away in Alberta.

I get boxes for non-fragile things…. like chainsaw chains.

The most recent watch I bought…. Blue and white bag.

The box the watch came in… mutilated. Watch was fine, and I’m not a “box collector”, so I didn’t send it back… but still, have some decency.

This exactly describes my experience with Walmart online.
Utterly incompetent.

I was slow to embrace the whole Amazon thing. The first online retail purchases I started making were through Walmart, but they just couldn’t get it together.
Time after time after time…

I finally gave up.

Amazon does a decent job for us.

It’s the delivery guys that we struggle with, since we live out in the sticks.

The very first thing I ever ordered from Amazon was a pair of work shoes that I couldn't find local anymore. It didn't come on the day it was supposed to so they asked if I wanted a refund or to send another pair. I wanted the shoes. About a week after receiving the 2nd order the first pair showed up. Im an honest guy so I contacted them and asked what I needed to do. They just told me to keep the extra pair. Pretty good customer service

Yeah, I tried WalMart.com but they are a mess.

I like Amazon. But I hate the inevitable screw ups.

Target.com is OK.

But they are becoming more like Walmart.com which is a negative for me.

I get sheets and towels and shampoo and cat litter and stuff like that from them.

I have an Amazon list that I reorder from ~ once a month.

If they steer me towards a third party checkout, I bail.

Both Walmart and Target feel like they are trying too hard to get you to visit the physical store.

JMHO.

Over the weekend I was in my driveway about to mow the lawn when the Amazon van pulled up. Guy gets out holding a box that looked like it had been slimed in Ghostbusters. "Did you order something liquid? It's either yours or it came from another box that's also wet." I wasn't expecting anything so I got my wife, who receives on average 365 and 1/3 packages a year.

"I don't think I ordered any liquid....let me check.....oh yeah, it must be laundry detergent." She uses some magical shit that apparently can't be found in the grocery store.

Amazon guy says he can start a return and they'll send a replacement, pushes some buttons on his scanner, then picks up the box that has left a spot on my driveway and is dripping all over his shoes, while I head back to restart the mower.

Wife continues to conversate "yeah, I have it on a subscription and I've gotten with no problems before.....blah blah blah..." while the box continues to drip.

Let the guy put the damn box on his truck woman I mutter to myself.

Today I got three things from amazon. Two were in boxes, and one was in a bag.

I can finally hang pictures! (That arrived in a bag.)

The cat tree arrived and there was no outer box. It was just the box that the cat tree was actually in.

So, that makes up for the first post mishap.
