Thanks for the compliments guys, it's turned out to be a great little guitar!
There is nothing on the barnwood top except 114 years of age I took the splinters off with a wire brush and then gave it a bit of a sand with a bristle sanding cup attachment for my drill.
JRo, that's SOMETHING... But if I were you, I'd use a tin roof rusted ((c) The B-52's =) instead of that pretty embossed leather pickguard, which is a beauty of its own... and a metal packing tape after some salt bath for that binding.
I've thrown together a website with some more pics of finished guitars. There is also a demo video of one of the Barncats. Just shot quick and dirty on an iPad (for now) but you get an idea of the sound. They sound like filthy little beasts.
Without doubt the most spectacular moment in MLP history. It makes reading all of those "is my guitar chambered" and "does the pickguard improve my sustain" threads worth it. If it only had a dogear......
I did all the leatherwork too. I've been doing custom hand-tooled guitar straps for country guys on the side for a while. Seemed like a no-brainer to put leather on the guitars too.
I have about as many orders as I can handle for the next few months but, if anyone's interested in one, let me know. robinsonguitarcompany@gmail.com
