The Bands in Movie Scenes Thread.

Post your favorite examples of scenes from movies that feature cameos from real bands. They can be stupid, or "cool"... But you know how a band will be playing in the background (Usually) of a movie scene, and it's a real band.

These usually take place at a scene in a club or a party. I love stuff like that.

Here's a few I thought of off the top of my head:

The Yardbirds from "Blow Up".

My freinds from San Diego named Rick Alias' his
band was in Tom Hanks movie That Thing You Do
as the backup band for the Tour in the movie.
He also wrote and played alot of the material for the movie.

Blow up was kind of Cool and Stupid at the same time
cool that the Yardbirds were playing and we got to see
Jeff Beck smash his cheap guitar, and watch Pagey smile
while he got to take over playing.
The Acting was beyond cheezy though

I've always liked the movie personally. I'm a fan of David Hemming.

It was also pretty innovative for it's time.

Oh i just mean the part when the Yardbirds were playing,
the actors in the audience were pretty bad ,
but the acting in the rest of the movie was great
a 60's Classic.

I always think it's funny/stupid in movies where they have a club scene at some kind of "underground" club, and they intersperse "actors" with real people from the musical scene of the time. The actors almost ALWAYS look out of place and wrong.

Sure it counts! that was a great movie, thats the movie
