Wow, nice grab whoever got it, Sweetwater is great to deal with too.

The discounting has started, a large dealer chain here in UK is doing wine red Dot's for £1499 and that blue one for £1599. I collected a red one a few days and the guy in the shop told me they are flying out. At that price I'm not surprised but anyone who paid full price earlier in the year must be feeling a bit hacked off.

The discounts happen every year. It’s no different than with car dealerships that are trying to move old inventory to make room for the new models.

I’m still kicking myself for not grabbing something when CME was blowing out Gibson Memphis guitars :(

When I found out how good the recent Memphis ES model were, I ended up getting some knowing I'd regret it if I didn't. I knew those were not typical closeout prices. And I look back at it no differently now.

For comparison, here’s my 339 and my 335. Obviously the 335 is significantly larger but it’s also significantly better too. I had my eye on the satin 335s back when they could be had for $1800 but I scored an excellent deal on the 339 so I figured good enough.

Which was wrong. The 339 is a nice size but I don’t find it to sound much like a semi hollow.... More like an anemic Les Paul. I don’t care much for the Memphis Tone Circuit and I am a not a fan of 57 Classics: I don’t like them in my 339, I didn’t like them in my B7 and I’m not particularly fond of them in my SG. I’m just too chicken/lazy to change them out of the 339.

Both of these models should have a cutaway in the treble side of the block making changing pots/harness/pickups much easier.

I agree on the shortcomings of the Memphis Tone Circuit.

This all came out through the pickup cavity.

Congrats Fenn! I just got one at a blowout price too.
Sold my black 335 Studio and replaced it with this. I put P-94s in mine. I'll take pics later.

Congrats on your NGD. I traded in my 2014 ES339 against my new ES335 Dot and don't regret it at all, not for £1499 anyway!!
