When I was 7 years old, I got backed over and run over by a truck. I was in the hospital for 98 days. Almost everyday he drew a cartoon and wrote a little letter to me. I was in New Jersey and he was in Texas. We were never really close buddy buddy but the devotion that he gave me for that time in my life is something I will never forget. He passed in 1985 and I still miss him.

In 1972, when I was 16, my Dad co-signed on my note with the local bank in my hometown so that I could get my new Amp, a 100 Watt Kustom. I paid it off all on my own, but his confidence in my playing and determination has stayed with me ever since. Unfortunately, I lost him in 1991.
