Saw this yesterday. People are bashing her for driving the speed limit in the left lane, but she states that she was going to be turning left a half mile up the road. Serves the douchebag right, IMO.

The driver left the scene, but police were able to track him down and charge him. I hope she slowed down, drove past him, and reciprocated the middle finger salute.

Sometimes I think if people realized just how dangerous a mere tire blowout can be,...maybe less people would drive like friggin' idiots?

Wishful thinking though.

A few years ago we had a tailgater behind us in a sports car, whipping in between lanes and generally being an ass. Then he started tailgating us.

We slowed down because we knew there was a giant pothole coming up near the Irving/Harlem intersection. Every winter when the snow melts you learn pretty quickly where the big/deep ones are.

Anyway we slowed down so he whipped around us and tore off down the street.

not 5 minutes later we see him near the Irving/Harlem intersection with his car trashed on the side of the road.

Popped his tire and looks like he broke/bent an axle? The front right of his sports car was all f**ked up.


....we still laugh about that. If only we'd been going a little faster we could've seen it happen.

Was funny though.

I love when life deals out instant karma to d*ck-heads.

You know what's REALLY dangerous? Filming with a mobile phone while driving.

I'm not excusing the tailgating undertaking fool, but anything that distracts from your driving is a really, really dumb thing to do.

Exactly, she had traveled well more than 1/2 mile while video taping, and to switch lanes for a few seconds and let the faster traffic through is totally ridiculous, right? She's a *&%$!!!!! plain and simple...
There is an unspoken rule while driving, and it's "slower traffic keep right" I guess she, and many others never heard of this....

NOTE: I don't condone tailgating, but I have never had this happen to me, I see a car coming up fast from behind, put my signal on, switch lanes, speeder goes by, no confrontation, and then move back over.... Some people feel they own the road...

Some fvckwad was tailing me in a Jeep one time, right on my ass...

It was a two lane road, I was doing 65 in a 55, there was a guy in front of me, I couldn't go any faster. So the guy in the Jeep decides to pass me on the right, which would have been a feat, as there were many slow moving vehicles in that lane.

He tried it, had to hit the brake hard, and I saw him fly off into the embankment, rolling over. This was before cell phones (1989) so I kept going. I would have stopped but I didn't want to be late for class, lol.

Yeah, I have to agree with this assessment - looks like this guy was trying to get around her long before she pulled out her phone and started recording. Her "just going a half-mile" statement doesn't really hold water.

When I rode a motorcycle I was always be amazed how often people in cars would try and cut you off when riding in-between lanes in heavy 15 MPH or less traffic.
1. If you let the bike through the bike will never get in your way again.
2. Motorcyclists can see your eyes in your side mirrors and know when the driver sees them.
3. Some motorcycle jackets have kevlar to protect elbows. This is also perfect to use to knock off side view mirrors. Over the years I must have knocked off 100 side mirrors. Generally, BMW, Mercedes and Audi owners were the most likely to do this. Luckily those cars are the easiest to knock off the mirrors. If a car driver was a real douche I'd run my passenger foot pegs across the side of their car.

I thought lane-splitting was illegal in NY. I know that intentionally damaging other people's property is.

If I'm going the speed limit and someone is tailgating me that bad, I'll get out of the way. If I'm going 10 over and they are tailgating me that bad, I'll slow down just to piss them off, because, well, fvck them. What, was I not breaking the law enough for you?

On the other end of the spectrum, if you aren't going at least the speed limit, you need punched in the mouth. I know it's the limit so if you don't want to speed, then fine. But it also means GO THIS FVCKING SPEED!
