Have had the STR-Tweed for a few months now and really digging the tones, but damn is it loud! Have the Night Light Jr. attenuator to really drop the volume for late night playing, but noticed the stock Mojotone speaker's sensitivity is at 99db.

The Celestion Heritage G12M is rated at 96db ... a significant drop in volume allowing one to crank the amp power up, right?

What do you think? A worthwhile experiment?

The amp's output will drop a little, but not enough to ditch the attenuator for late night jamming.

Jensen Mod 12-35 is rated at 93.7db. If you want something brighter, the C12R is rated at 93.8db but has a much higher peak response.

I don't think it would be worth it, personally. the bv-25 speaker is a really nice match IMO. I don't think the volume drop will be that significant...

BTW, played one a couple weeks ago while visiting apple music row in Portland, it's a really great amp! I think i liked it better than my AST pro :hmm:
