1967 Vintage Gibson SG Special P90 Pickups All Original - eBay (item 180414008903 end time Oct-10-09 09:44:36 PDT)

Hey guys

So I've been keeping on eye on any SG specials on the ebay. This one ended about a month ago. I've been suspicious of it ever since I first came across it. The auction has already ended but I wanted to see what you guys think of this.

Seems a bit fishy to me, especially after seller states that the tuners are stock, when all SG specials at that time came with the circular, white tuners (button?).

The finish and complete lack of flame also bothers me.

What about you guys?

Seller seems legit (100% feedback), but having the guitar come from Thailand bothers me and pushes me toward this maybe being a fake

The body is one of the cleanest I have seen, especially for a '67. I don't know if it would be fake, but a dang cool guitar if its legit.

actualy looks more like a painted color than stain,
i dont see any woodgrain, this is what the finish should look like
(this is a 65 though so the pickguard is different)

but i dont know, it could be real, just has an odd looking finish

That finish doesn't "seem" original to me... Too much "wear" on the tailpiece studs as compared to the finish.

That's what I was just looking at too, in a couple of the pictures, you can barely make out that there's wood under there.

Those are NOT 1967 Tuners, they are Schaller tuners. They should be Kluson, reading "Kluson Deluxe" in two lines.

What about this pic...

is that copper "tub" plating/shielding Original to 67 SG's? and look at all of the melted shielding on the wires :hmm: it just "looks" to sloppy inside the control cavity to be"All Original".

So that blue wire in the left hand corner with the insulation burned down to the bare wire isn't original?....:laugh2:
