Will a 5 ply pickguard off a Custom fit on a Studio Les Paul?

I was going to order one for my white studio, but in the description it says...

"Standard size pickups (Will not fit studio guitars)"

I don't get why it wouldn't fit.... any body have a 5 ply pickguard on their studio LP? :hmm:

Since 1999 the Historic reissues (and most Custom Shop Les Pauls....not all) have the bridge pickup in its correct place, but the USA Gibson still have the bridge pickup 1/8" too far south, as they have had since the early 70s. Historics vs other Les Pauls do not interchange pickguards well also because of the upper screw hole location.

I do not know about the current Studios, but in the 80s, the studio pickguard interchanged with other Les Pauls from Gibson USA.

I installed a 5-ply LP Custom pickguard on my 2006 Studio with no problems. If I recall, I may have had to drill the screw hole by the neck. Other than that, it was a cinch.

I really like the pickguard. Aside from how it looks (nice), it's much stiffer and doesn't feel as cheap as the factory installed one.

Do you happen to have any photos of it on the guitar?
