Wow, just looked through all the stuff. Some of the more obscure items:

Cards:
https://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/71/lot/27543/
https://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/71/lot/27549/

Smoking kit:

Frank Sinatra gifted watch:

This is basically the estate sale I always dream of walking into, minus the cards. Although it would be pretty entertaining to pull that out at the register of Guitar Center to see their reaction.

This is cool...

I suspect that a lot of these will exceed the auction estimates...

I liked some of the old electronic stuff like the old recorders and mixing boards.

All fakes... look at the knobs they don't even line up on that white one!

As great as he was, he made some of the fugliest mods going.

Les was clearly about the music and the playing; he wasn't shy about playing the "log" in public! It just had to be functional and make good sounds.....:thumb:

Looks cool enough to me but I'll never be able to be fully control all those stuff
4 knobs and 1 switch is already hard enough

Great thread ! those guitars pictured look like they've been fitted with a 1970's air conditioning unit.:laugh2: joking aside....that is some auction list.

The auction catalog is truly awe-inspiring, not in the things themselves, but in seeing his life reflected in them.

Sorry m8 - so no wonder all the best gear has gone!?:hmm:

Somebody said this in another thread about the same auction and I still don't get it.

There's at least six prototype guitars up for the highest bidder. There's the "No-caster." a Fender Telecaster made before it was named the Telecaster, personally given from Leo Fender to Les Paul. There's all kinds of stuff that Paul himself invented, constructed, or modified.

What are people talking about when they say "the best stuff is gone?"

Peace

Rex
