For the strat lovers out there - I'm putting together my "umpteenth" strat partscaster and I make the same damn mistake every time - I don't leave enough slack in the ground wire to the trem claw and the ground and hot wires to the jack to easily service the pickguard at a future date if I want to swap pickups or whatever. What is your rule of thumb for how many inches of extra wire you run to the trem claw and jack so that it's easy to service in the future, but not so excessive that it's a challenge to stuff the extra wire back into the cavity? My thought right now is maybe an extra 4 inches - anybody tend to leave more than that?
