Hey, i recently installed EMG 81 / 85's pickups in my guitar.

However, the both pickups seem to sound the same. also the tone and volume knobs aren't making a noticeable difference in sound as well as the pickup selector.

On top of this, my zw 44 pedal, as well as my wah pedal have extreme amounts of hiss and barely work at all when hooked up.

I tried using a different guitar with my pedals and the did work.

Does anybody have any ideas on what i should do? ive redone the wiring the guitar a bunch of times already.

Did you change the pots when you changed the pickups or are the same ones you were using with the stock, passive pickups?

It's cause their EMGs ^.^

Jk :D

I did the same (81/60) in an epi LP classic

Used the same CTS 300k pots I had in it and it worked just fine

I got rid of them cause I just don't like the blacked out look since the guitar is trans black with black hardware.

If it's connected right to the pots and stereo jack with a battery, I'm at a loss for an answer

Ya the pots are the new ones that came with the EMG pickups, those are the ones i installed.

Also, yes i am using a 9v battery to power the pickups and the pedals.
