Well, P90s are noisy. All are. But if you want a better tone take it to a tech and get them to unplug the Dummy Coil. It will give you proper P90 tone..could make it noisy though..

Its natural for single coils to hum..very...very loudly.

I can give and take on the tone. I really want to quiet the noise with out a gate. I don't mind modding the pick-up slot if needed. I am almost 40 years old, I dod not need to worry about selling the thing. My kids can deal with that. I think a Humbucker would be fine. I just tried my old old Fender Lead 1 (junk) with a humbucker and it sounds fine with very little noise.

I really need a dog ear p-90 replacement humbucker.

ALL P90s are noisy. Humbuckers arent. Single coils/P90s are noisy. Thats life.

Okay, But I want a humbucker then. Help me out! It has to fit in the BJA LP Jr.

1. Why would you want to? Why did you not buy a humbucking Les Paul then, not a Junior.
2. I dont think thats possible, you have to mod the body.

I like the simplicity of the JR but not the noise. I can just live with it. I don't really want to modify the body.
