YouTube - JOE PERRY (AEROSMITH) "TRAIN KEPT A ROLLING"@PLYMOUTH MEMORIAL HALL-PLYMOUTH, MA 9-20-09

I getting the feeling Joes got this guy out testing the waters

PS the guitar is from RS guitars
Yes, we built that guitar from the ground up. It was really cool...no...it was one f*ck of a reality check to talk to Joe Perry on the phone. He's been one of my guitar hero's™ (as he probably is to alot of you guys), and it was cool as shit to talk guitars & other things with him on the phone while building the guitar.

I took a bunch of photo's as a "Making Of..."...maybe I'll put up a slide-show...

RE: Steven Tyler...Van Halen did it rather successfully, so I think Aerosmith can do it. I'm not throwing ST under the bus, but in this age where everything is ProTool'd to death, I like the fact the the Aerosmith boys want to go out and play and still make Rock-&-Fucking-Roll music.

Somewhere there is a recent video of joe saying Steve hasn't talked to the other guys for sometime now . Only communications have been emails from his people. Also something he hit on is Steven has not written with them in over a decade & will only work with outside writters. This explains why the lack luster water down song of late. Seems Joe & other are raring to get back to the raw edge music they once made.Im a big fan of Steves & Joes but on the whole show canceling thing & recent songs I will have to side with Joe.

I liked them better when they were the Toxic Twins............ Toys in the Attic is my favorite Aerosmith album.

And Brad's replacement was Rick Dufay............. what do I win?

Depends on how old you are - if your old enough to actually remember Rick Dufay - then you win:

I was 12 at the time thank you................ Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Kiss were huge influences growing up in the 70's and early 80's.

BTW I remember when my parents were in their 20's and my grandmother was 40, my dad's now 62.

Same here! But I think I have a lap or 2 on you...

I was a Freshman in college when I saw Aerosmith during the Whitford / Crespo " Catch Us If You Can Tour " of clubs to break Jimmy in. I only got to see Rick at 1 show at the NJ Medowlands. Next year my son will be a college freshman.

I'll be heading in to NYC tomorrow night to catch Joe Perry at the Filmore - Last time I saw Joe solo was 1981 at a bar in North NJ - perhaps the 2nd or third date with my then girlfriend - now wife.

So then you wear the depends already. :laugh2:

Not quite yet - my zipper may be a little rusty, but my eyes aren't good enough to see - or perhaps its arthritis???? ;) and the nickname for my Softball Team is "Team Viagra" - my son calls it Geezer Ball, accuses us of stealing braces from " Gerry's Kids" and that the bench smells like a Ben Gay factory.

Yep high mileage for sure..

That really sucks, I really hate it, but most of all I really really hope they DONT get a new singer, especially Joe's new singer who is not good sounding in the slightest. It wont be the same, Aerosmith is one of those kinds of bands where you cant take out even 1 member no matter who it is and hope that it is still good. Because well it wont be, just like Motley Crue, original members or it sucks, no matter who it is.

I agree 100%! How can Steven turn his back on the very thing, the very people who helped him become everything he thinks he is today? (Besides Liv) ASSHOLE!

Joe's band is playing at an Albany area club next week on a SUNDAY night....

I loved Aerosmith for a long time. It kills me that they turned into a Vegas pop band.
Oh, and they are without doubt the WORST band I've ever seen perform live.

Utter crap.

Good riddance.

If Journey can do it, why can't Aerosmith?

Because they can't, thats why. Steven Tyler is the icon of all lead singers. Few would be on the Mt. Rushmore of lead singers, but Tyler, Plant, Daltry, and very few others would be there.

Not many can sing in his range (heck tyler himself cnnot any longer), and at this point it is what it is.

As for the "JPP", the new lead singer is a little puppy trying to hang with the big dawgs. On the studio track he has good range, but live he's like a little bitch.

Perry, can't hold a tune to save his life, but can riff.

If they don't get back together, it will suck, but to be honest the last few live gigs I have seen were over priced and under performed. They will always be my favorite band, and always be the best rock show I have ever seen, but dammit they ole grey mare, ain't what she used to be...
