I have been dwelling over it since last night and finally decided it that I could go for it. I wanted to buy an amp, because I am an amp whore, but I have plenty of amps and this guitar just looks too good to pass on.

I had a 14 MM and sold it, so I was going to get one of those eventually, but I rather have this one.:thumb:

As much as I want to, and I reeeeeeaaallly want to, I have bought too many guitars recently to justify this one. So I will just be jealous of you instead...

One day I will get one, (sigh) whoa is me..... :(

(...) The only reasons I hesitate are because I think my wife would throw me out of the house if I purchase another guitar, and because my heart really desires a double cut in TV Yellow... (...)

Don't let the petty stuff interfere with your deep inner desires...

just remember guitars are like p*ssy.

You can't have every one you see and you can't f**k 'em all,...so just enjoy what comes along and don't stress over it.

GAS is a b*tch and can actually bring you down and make you not enjoying playing guitar because you're so focused on the next one you want to acquire.

....that's a bad place to be.

The only solution I've found for it is to put all my guitars away where I can't see them, wait a week and then pull ONE out,...it seems new again and I remember it's about the joy of playing or learning to play, and not so much the joy of collecting.

....I actually worry about some of you guys that seem to own 20 guitars and are already posting about the next one you want to buy. I mean there's GAS,...and then there's straight up addict behavior.

"if I buy one more guitar my wife will kill me!"

...not that it affects me personally at all,...but sometimes I still worry about some of my MLP brethren.

I only have GAS when I can afford it:thumb: like I said, I was saving for an amp, but this guitar got the best of me :laugh2:

I have plenty of amps to use with this baby. Plus Mal, you said yourself, it was 1200.00 last week:laugh2:

Is your fault!:applause:

I see you've been talking with my Exes. :laugh2:

nah don't get me wrong, people should own as many guitars as they want. Shoot if I had the room, the money and the inclination I'd own at least 15 or so myself. There are ones I want for no practical reason at all other then I just want it. (like a Tele),...no need, will never be a 'main' guitar,..still want one.

I just meant I worry about guys going into debt, charging multiple guitars to credit, pissing off their wives, etc.

..it's not worth all that. That's the hobby controlling you and not the other way around.

I think I would go with the MM for the close out price of $559. Thinner body, satin finish with a cut out on the back.

They sound great through anything...If I had to cut back to ONE guitar, that Junior Special would be the one. It literally can do ANYTHING from C&W to jazz, and sounds great for all of it.

As a previous poster eluded to , "the TV Yellow isn't translucent enough..." that's because it probably isn't a real TV Yellow finish. I'd like to hear from anyone who has one of these if the guitar finish is opaque?

I'm also a little confused as to why Gibson and/or Sweetwater had to put "Junior" in the title? It looks like, and has specs like, what a modern interpretation of a 50's Special from the USA line would be like.

Headstock is a little too big and "Norlin-ey" for me, but not a deal breaker.

Overall I'm encouraged (even if it's a special run) that Gibson is at least listening to their dealers/customers/forums. They still can't or won't go all the way with focussing on their core, non custom shop customers wants and needs, but at least there are signs they might care about us.

Why do you have to make me feel bad about my guitar lust damn it!!??!!
Nothing to worry about here. I mean I only own 4 les pauls, and 1 strat, so others have me beat by a mile. I went through my gear buying spree, since I had gone years without buying any new guitars, and had sold my collection down to 3 guitars. I sold off one of the three and then bought 3 more. So for now I am good, but it doesn't mean I can't still lust after new ones. Don't bring me down man, don't bring me down!!:naughty:

Yes, it's opaque. No grain showing at all. The color seems right though.

The key to what??? :hmm:

Not to overextend one self. To say "Yes", it is always easy, but when to say "No" to something or someone, it is always much difficult.

I have friends that overextend themselves and they have no self control, so they are always freaking broke, with good jobs at that.

Gibson's been calling yellow paint jobs "TV Yellow" for years so I'm not surprised the paint is opaque, but still annoyed they continue to mislabel the color.

The screwed up thing is a real TV Yellow paint job is less labor intensive, with an overall lower cost in materials compared to an opaque paint job.
