Today I removed the bridge pickup from my Oscar Schmidt OE20B and added a coil split wire, Then I wired a spin-a split in place of the tone circuit. This is my first successful pickup mod. Had a few altercations, but , nothing I couldn't overcome.

Guitar Wiring Explored: The Spin-a-Split Mod | Seymour Duncan

Because a neck pickup in a Les Paul type guitar gets muddy This brightens up the pickup instead of rolling back the tone. I Like it!

Yep. My favorite neck HB mod. As far as i'm concerned its much more usable than a neck tone control. I've never heard anyone ever say "I like that neck pu tone but i wish it was more muddy"

I figured the tone control sitting there unused would be better used like this. Unless your amp is set up very bright it would never be used. Most of my guitars are P-90 equipped and a Strat, so it is set up accordingly.

The parallel/series switching isn't popular for some reason.
Less hum and sweater highs, at least to the pups I tried it with.
I find it way more useful than any split or tap trick.
I wish someone had pointed me to that direction years ago.
