Full Show | Video Game Awards 2012
They labeled it VGA 10, and just to show you how big the video game industry is, Samuel L. Jackson hosted, and Jessica Alba was a presenter. Many celebrities were in the audience. An unbelievable number of nerds accepted the awards. The winners in the main categories were:
Game of the Year: The Walking Dead, the Game
Best Xbox 360 game: Halo 4
Best Shooter: Borderlands 2
Best Action/Adventure: Dishonored
Best Role Playing Game: Mass Effect 3
However, the funniest part of the show was a skit on the future of gaming.
Sam Jackson Fights Zombies In The Walking Dead Plus The Game of the Year Nominees | Free Video Clips | SPIKE
Yes, the future has entered the gaming world, and games are a sign of the future. Get your zombie weapons ready, don't run out of ammo, and shoot to thrill. If aliens were out to pacify the world, then their most direct plan of attack would involve hooking half the planet on video games. Not knowing the difference between reality and fantasy, mankind will likely get hooked/addicted to fantasy. We have come al ong way from the early Atari games. Even though sales fell 11% in November (compared to last year), and many young people have outgrown video games as they enter college or the workforce, I predict they will get hooked again. There ain't no motherf***er who can resist addictive offerings like COD Black Ops 2 and The Walking Dead. And 2013 promises one of the biggest releases ever, GTA V.
