Honestly? They priced the Spark too low for what it is, and they got hammered with unanticipated demand.

And there it is... Damn nice product...and was at too low a price mark.

Why do they need your permission? I can record my self on lots of things and I don't need to give anyone permission. Permission to do what?

It's not uncommon for apps to have to request permission to use the mic and camera.

Ya, I don't think the Spark app can record video or audio, though being a BT connection I don't see why it would prevent video recording while using the app, unless the audio monitor of the video were to conflict with the bluetooth audio stream into the amp.

It's pretty limited, but it does support voice command which requires permission to access the microphone:

It's got a video option. It doesn't record direct over the BT connection, though. That's why it uses the mic.

Positive Grid released free new firmware and app updates today. Three new amps and three new pedals. You can go to the Positive Grid website, go to Spark under Amps, scroll down to updates (under the picture of the amp), and click on the links in "Announcing the Spark Gear Drop". Easy.

Some are saying the update can be a bit finicky, one frequent suggestion is to not forget to "eject" when complete.

This update is badass. I have not tried the high gain model yet but the dumble and the blues junior are awesome.

As much as I appreciate the new update I have to pose the question...

Why in the Hades did Positive Grid choose the Blues Junior out of all the amp possibilities? Wouldn't have been on my radar of amps to emulate for sure. Not that the model is bad, just unwarranted lol.
