at Gibson 2015, is, well, their website.
First of all, after seeing the 2014 models on their site, I was kind of turned down by the inlay, especially because of its existence on high end models (with trapezoidal inlays). In real life, I actually liked the look of the inlay on models with dot inlays.
After seeing photos of 2015's, again, I was turned down by the hologram at the back of the neck, the G-force tuning system, the brass nut, wider neck etc..I can't describe myself as a purist, but I do like a more traditional way of thinking regarding some aspects, and when it comes to Gibsons, I like them the way they were in the 90's or 00's. That is just me, of course.
So I cannot say I am exactly a fan of Gibson USA post 2014. But,
In 2014, I noticed an improvement in their website. More organised somewhat, cleaner looking, more modern, sleeker ,design. I liked it. But I got to say, the Gibson2015 site is probably the best structured I've seen in a long time, at Gibson and why not, any guitar related site.
For spec-a-holics like me , it's pure Heaven. They now show you the full specs on every Gibson USA model, the way the body is carved, the woods used for the FB, body, top, the density, the level of figuring, the radius, the distance between the strings, the neck profile as opposed to other profiles, cavity shots.
I consider this a HUGE improvement , as opposed to their website pre-15. You want to know something about a model , it's there. I love the new design.
Check out this page and you know what I'm saying Gibson.com: Les Paul Less+ 2015
I've always thought the Gibson website lacked something..the full specs, I don't exactly know. IT's been fixed in the new site, and I consider it a plus.
Don't work for Gibson, just a thought about their recent changes and such.
