Didn't think to post these. Some old beat up guitars and a new beat up guitar. All quite beautiful!

3 real holy grail vintage Gibsons, showing off the beauty of natural aging.

1 Murphy Lab specimen with heavy checking which better represents neglect than natural aging. Who invited him?

The Murphy Lab imposter looks way older, more abused, and far less attractive than the legit oldies. Better get someone to hack up the genuine vintage models.

I'm so unbelievably far from an expert on the relic finishes but yes, I could tell a difference between the Murphy Lab and the real thing.

The Murphy Lab checks looked and felt raised, kind of like alligator skin. I didn't get my grubby paws on the vintage but the checks looked more subtle, and the surface looked smoother when go glancing over the finish reflecting light.

This was when the Lab had some issues with the finish flaking off and had some returns I guess? Hope it's all fixed now!
