Hey Guys!

I had to/decided to sell my LP Standard and now I want to focus on make my only guitar perfect.

I picked the guitar up used with seymour duncans installed, if any of you are located in Germany and you want to buy duncans (SH-4, SH-2N and APH1N) hit me up! :naughty:

I don't think you'd call them vintage, but only being 20 (almost 21) years myself, I think that's pretty vintage. I picked up (for real cheap) a 490R and a 498T gibson usa pickup's that originally came from a 1996 gibson - sick! and gold too! Nice and old, with some fading and patina - full of mojo - I love it!

Which finally lets me perfect the look of my lp custom, just like it's meant to be. Gold hardware and gold covered PU's.

The knobs have been replaced (by a knobhead) to metal ones, those are way too modern and the old school ones are coming on this baby (they are already in the mail on their way, genuine gibson knobs for the tone :applause:)

Shes my number one, the best guitar I've ever played and I will take her to the grave with me :thumb:

here's what you came for, pictures!

I have a couple of duncans left over now .... I guess selling them will give me some money :thumb:

They really fit in perfectly !
And I happen to think the 490/498 combo sounds really nice, I don't know what people have against them :dunno:

My first guitar was an Epiphone LP Special and it had the same models (490/498) as epi copies and they sounded really good.

I play rock and metal and just played some power metal on them, and actually it performs better than the JB (SH-4) I had in there before, it just works better in this guitar.

It now sounds extremely like a les paul, which is great! and even with high gain metal, it sounds amazing... I'm happy with it! :fingersx:

Looks great and I bet they sound great too :thumb:
I never cared much for the JB pickup in a Les Paul. But lot of people like it, and the SH-4 plus SH-2 are selling like hot cakes as a pair. Should be no problem to get rid of :)

I agree. These are really nice pickups, and they don't get the love they deserve imo.

All a matter of taste, really. I find them harsh sounding and difficult to balance, but I'm more of an AlNiCo 2 guy when it comes to getting a nice vintage tone.

To each their own, and rock on, brother! She looks great and I'm sure she sounds like a million bucks!

yeah funny eh I find a lot put them down, that have Gibson studios that come stock with them. But most of the Gibson Custom owners say they are the bees knees! IDK I like the 498T, the 490 I can live without but does a good job in a pinch.

Congrats OP looks cool
