Solid Mahogany Les Paul?

Just played my 60s Tribute and my junior back to back unplugged. The junior really sounded so much better (clear and bright) then the Tribute. I figured it is the difference of the maple top. So, my question is, did Gibson build a carved top Les Paul that was solid Mahogany? I figure this is why I prefer slab guitars?

The original Gibson Les Paul Customs were all Mahogany as well i believe, under all that black and gold.

My TH is all mahogany. Totally different sounding beast.

Not always. Play a few more and you'll probably notice some sound different.

57 Custom reissues are all mahogany.

My 07 Studio is all mahogany with BB Pros. Also came with swag. I haven't mastered that yet.

Mine is a 2015 Traditional and it's also a LTD, hard to find at the moment. Also the wide neck it's not for everyone, but I do like it a lot. You would expect it very dark sounding because of no maple cap, but it's the brighter Gibson LP I do have, probably also thanks to the 59 reissue pups mounted stock on this model.

There is also a Standard 2016, same as mine, mahogany top glued on a 2 pieces mahogany body.
