This is basically a JCM800 with an extra preamp tube gain stage - no diodes used like the other 900 series.

Hello,
Is this amp still for sale? I am a long time member of The Gear Page ( mrbill ) and have read quite a few of your posts over the years, often about Marshall amps. I have an amp just like this saved on Reverb. Very clean, though not as clean as yours, with 5881s, but conveniently in the same city where I live ( Chicago ). I just joined this forum because I saw this thread title listed on the internet. I don’t know that much about this series of Marshall amps, but they seem to get a lot of positive comments. I’m currently playing a Fargen Mini-Plex MKIII that I like a lot, but it’s only 12 watts ( doesn’t sound like it, though ), and was thinking of something bigger to go with a 4x12 cab.
