It's refreshing to see the true colors of cops, what we see and hear on the news is about less than 1/10th of a percent of cops. most are good and most guys and gals that point guns at them are bad.

Except, April Fool's! :applause:

well, if -I- as a normal human, and a non-cop, would park like that, help that little girl, and a cop saw that, i would be shot, given a ticket, being in jail for possible child-somthing, but if a cop does it, sure, no problems, instantly famues. :)

Perspektive right?

except for that gif of you in your signature says it all :laugh2: :applause:

No, it's not. I was homeless for over a year and I never got arrested or a ticket.

It wasn't for lack of trying. You moved around a lot, right?

Now that the story is on national news it comes out the cop is on the SWAT team, is a master of mixed martial arts, and yeah, has kids of his own.

You're a dude. It was her and her Mother.
Most Shelters are for females.

You're a Rabbit.

Cops don't go around arresting Rabbits. That's ridiculous. Have you seen how small the cuffs are? Forget about it.

My brother in law is a retired Lieutenant. He is one of the best people I know. Also one of the toughest mofo's you will ever encounter. Yes, there are some bad cops. But the majority that I know are all really great people.

:wtf::confused: his balance is f**king terrible.

Another wtf...homeless kids?, I've heard of it and sure somebody will say it's an epidemic or something but I've never seen it here, not with all the social programs, welfare, single mother benefits, child welfare, school feeding programs...not too mention it's probably illegal and considered grounds for child services intervention...and also illegal not to have your kids in school.

In other words if you have a homeless kid you have to be such a f**k up to willfully not even try to the point of sabotage.

How would your balance be, if you had to carry the weight he has to carry around his waist for is job? :laugh2:

It isn't illegal not having your kids in school. She is homeschooled. Whether in the van or in a library.

From what I read from those who know the family, there has been a lot of red tape in her case, as to why she could not get help with housing and other things. They have been homeless for some years, but apparently they are not classed as homeless as they have a van/bus..that was donated to them from the church.
All the services and departments have been aware of their situation for a long while, apparently.

Her husband died and left a lot of debt. There is a lot more to the story, which really is quite sad. Hopefully because of this story has gone viral, somehow the red tape can be broken and they get the help they need so the mum can get back on her feet.

Love the way he distracted the girl from worrying. Hearing her giggle showed how he succeeded in what he hoped to do :)

If they cover up for and work with bad cops, then how are they good? They're no better than the bad cops. Just my opinion.

Just because someone's a cop doesn't mean they automatically get respect, thats earned. We've all seen countless videos of cops acting bad, how does that earn anyone's respect?

If they can't deal with the everyday stuff that comes with being a cop, then they shouldn't be one.

Again, MY opinion.

What does all that have to do with his brother in law?

Why you quoted that post, I have no idea.

If there were more videoes shown of all the good things cops do everyday, I wonder if they would get more respect. I doubt it, because it seems that one bad cop story tars the rest and many only want to see the negative.

I wonder how anyone would feel if something like that was portrayed in their profession. Cameras on them all the time these days, it has to be harder to do their job.

I guess I am lucky, if it wasn't for cops, I may not be alive today. They earn my respect personally and in general. A few bad ones do not make up the Police Force in MY opinion.

I wonder what you or anyone who doesn't respect them, do when you do need their help? :hmm:

Not necessarily so. Petty (real low level petty) "bureaucrats" have a million ways to tell you you don't qualify for assistance - often just because they won't get off their ass to do their job and help you. And as for jobs, it's already a race to the bottom, and there's a new wrinkle now - some outfits have a new policy of not interviewing or hiring anyone that isn't already currently employed. Plus the trick of only hiring part time, to screw people out of money and benefits.... and/or firing you just before benefits kick in.

And let's not even get into the politicians and voters who have the "**** you I got mine" view.

A kid growing up in a van with a loving mother will be just fine. Ideally she should have a roof and bathroom bed and breakfast table, but the most important thing she has is her loving mother and shelter.

I've lost count of the number of single parents w kids living out of a van I've met

Living in a van ain't all that bad. Especially down by the river.

The wifey and I had a great time living in our van for a month whilst driving around Mexico a few years back. But I cannot equate that experience to a child or teen living long term in a vehicle while trying to be socially accepted at school, maintaining minimum hygiene and clothing standards and having a suitable environment for doing homework.
