So, who else is excited for the Olympics?

Lets face it, I was excited for the 2010 winter olympics, but ended up having epic dissapointment with the broadcasting and found the 24/7 broadcasting of curling to be annoying (they cut off the end of the closing ceremonies to promote their own show, and basically said "oh well, sucks for you!" when people complained)

On the other hand, I really enjoyed the 2008 and (2004?) summer olympic games.

I went camping for a few days in 2008 during the games, but still enjoyed all of the events, from seeing the swimming events with Michael Phelps to the running events with Usain Bolt.

I am probably going to miss a few days of the games again this year, but I am still excited to see them. Is anybody else here really excited to see them?

Edit: Oh yes, it looks like the flame has already been lit too and will be making its way to the games in a few days.

I'm never too interested in the summer olympics...some track and field but that's about it. The best part is finding out who gets busted for steriod use :D

Kinda, I'll watch just because it's going to be Phelps' last swim though, that sucks.

Sadly going to zero events because getting tickets was too much hassle, you had to be lucky to get tickets via the lottery and they were way to expensive.
Most interested in the football where we are fielding a team from all the federations. LOL.

On a plus note, the police are taking over the university dorms so local crime should drop to zero during the games.

Might walk over to Greenwich to protest during the 3 day eventing if i'm free.

Sorry, not even mildly intrigued. I doubt I'll intentionally catch any of it at all.

I share no interest in the olympics i'm afraid... I won't be watching it. Why we have to build new olympic villages are a ridiculous waste of money imo.

I'm not particularly looking forward to Euro 2012 for Englands chances though I will watch as many matches as possible with beer and wine flowing gladly. :)

I love the Olympics.
When it's in someone else's backyard.
I shall be endeavouring to put myself in someone else's back yard instead this year.

Aside from football, BMX and basketball, the olympics probably won't be on in my house.

I can't wait for the olympics. My tube line will be so packed with people that I'll mostly work from home
for 2 months. I'll give a much better purpose to the 115 pounds I pay for my monthly season's ticket.

The '68 Summer Olympics was the last one I got even a little excited about.

2008 was EPIC. I'll be watching. I might not be glued to it as if it were Hockey, but I'll be watching.

I'm excited for the U.S. Gymnastics team.

When do we get summer curling on bowling alleys treated with shuffleboard wax? For that matter, when do we get bowling?
