I ordered a turntable this week. Today I ordered my first two LPs: DSOTM & Ziggy Stardust.
those first 2 will get you addicted.
next thing you know you will be signing over your social security checks to the "record dealers".
it's a slippery slope.

It's all Mal's fault. Him and his vinyl thread! I'm quite sure I won't go crazy buying vinyl as it's just too inconvenient to listen too. I have a fairly high-end stereo system that just wouldn't be complete without a turntable. But again, I probably won't use it much. Just a few of my favorite LPs.

Here's one that I would replace immediately if damaged.

It reminds me that I need to go back to basics on my soloing.

@Tone deaf It's a tri amped system. The active X-over splits the hi-freqs to a crown power amp that drives JBL 2402 ring radiators in boxes I built, the Mid freqs go to mono blocks I built (KT88) that drive JBL L100s, and the low freqs to go a Dynaco 400 that drives a pair of subs I built (big walnut boxes on the left). The preamp is Marantz. I have a new set of orange quadrex foam grills for the L100s that should arrive in a week or two.

Those mono blocks are sexy. I know lots of folks who would pay stupid money based upon appearance alone...

The material costs alone for the mono-blocks were $3K. They sound as spectacular as they look. I've never considered building them to sell.
