Oo boy you may have set me on the one . Im really diggin this dark finished one....

Epiphone Les Paul Tribute Electric Guitar and more Solid Body Electric Guitars at GuitarCenter.com.

Im not so much into the coil tapping thing, If i want single coil tone Ill go get my strat out. Also seems like more fiddly parts to wear out or break. BUT just cause thay are there doesnt mean you gotta use em constantly. Wonder what effect this would have on switching knobs out. Like to speed knobs.

Maus hows the neck on yours? Not to thin is it?

I don't use the series/parallel switch a lot either, but it's nice to know it's there :p

The neckprofile is something that you'll have to decide yourself.
It's available with either the 60's SlimTaper neckprofile (kind of a 'C'-shape) or the modern asymmetrical neckprofile (goes from 'D'-shape at the low E to a 'C'-shape at the high E).
I went for the SlimTaper profile, simply because I prefer a slimmer neckprofile.
If you want the neck to be a bit more 'meaty', you should go for the asymmetrical shape.

Well after a little study Im pretty sure im gonna have to lay my hands on a tribute. Both neck styles . The combination of features and lack of the pickgard (which i would have removed immediately) plus the general style of the guitar appeals to me.

Gonna get the blackish one I think unless the other appeals to me in some weird way at the last minute. Hopefully actually playing one wont send me back to square one all over again. Gonna have to find one to spend some time with.

Thanks guys for the responses. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.
