Slim Taper Neck Profile

I'm looking at a couple of "like new" LP Classic's and I'm trying to decide between the two. One is a 2014 and one is a 2015 that still has the GForce turners which I kinda want. If anything goes wrong I can always replace.

Gibson's website says both guitars have a slim taper neck.

Here's the question:

Are all slim taper necks basically the same profile? Is there a difference between a "60's slim taper" and a current "slim taper"?

For comparison sake, I do have a 335 which I believe has the 60's slim taper profile. Would this be a fair comparison to the 2014 Classic?

I also already have a 2015 LP Jr. Am I wrong to believe this to be a fair comparison to the 2015 Classic?

I do understand not every neck is equal and has small differences. I'm just trying to get a general idea.

The 2015 I believe will have the wider fretboard, so they likely will feel very different. I also have a 2015 Jr with a slim taper, and while it is slim from front-to-back, the wider fretboard makes it feel larger overall. I have a Jr Special from the late 90's that has a super slim neck, for comparison. I have another LP with more of a 50s profile. The 2015 is somewhere between the two.

Unless it's a 2015 Traditional Classic which will be a straight LP with a slim neck of normal width, and the G-Force tuners.

Skip the newer LP classic's and get a 90's era classic used
completely different guitars altogether

The Gforce tuners are a mess
so hit and miss on reliability

Nope. I had both guitars (a 2015 Classic and a couple of 2015 Juniors) and they have the same neck profiles.

Never played a 2014 Classic.

My BJA Juniors (a 2008 and a 2012) both have 60's necks but they are definitely chunkier than my 2015 SR Classic (a 2015 with a regular neck width). They are nowhere near the 50s necks on the LPs I have, but they are not the same as the 2015 SR Classic IMO. The neck on the Classic really feels flat.

If you can try the guitars, go for it .

Never had any issue with the G-Force, and as you said, it can be replaced.
