Anyone know a good source on-line for glass slides... I've bought about 5 different ones that you can get at guitar center / musician's friend, etc, but none are exactly what I want.

I have two dunlops that are close... one is the correct length, but is a hair too tight... the other is a perfect inside diameter, but too long... they don;t seem to make one that's the perfect length and inside diameter for me.

Any suggestions?

I like the glass as well. The Tedeschi Trucks Band website sells Derek signatures that look cool, got the thick bottom. I also used a class one that smoke gray and kinda textured inside, think it was a Joe Perry endorsement or somthing. Had a good tone and fit. Don't know if your habds are huge like mine but they came in a size that was too big for me and that's rare. Sorry can't remember name though..might have been a dunlop too tho.

I don't like the dunlops personally. They are likely pyrex and don't sound as good. I have two slides that really sound good. One is ceramic and one is brass. The cereamic one I picked up at a random music store in a small IL town and the brass one was a chunk of brass pipe I found laying around in my dad's shop years ago, already perfectly smoothed on both ends and just calling out to be used as a slide. It sounds better then any commercially made slides I have found of any material. I'm not sure why.

My thing on slides is you gotta experiment. Some of the best slides are made of unlikely material. I opened for a band last summer at a festival and one of the guitar players showed me a bone slide that had been given to him. It was one of the most amazing sounding slides I have heard. I guess it just had that...mojo.

2'' is the perfect length I'm looking for.... the 2'' one that I have is a bit too tight.

Thanks for the links... I will check them out.

Yeah, getting it sized right is a bitch. At least it was for me.
