That's the Epi model. The Gibson one (the first pic ont he left) has an engraved "sculpted" snake. Really nice.

I used to own the Epi model. Didn't like it much. VERY different from my Goldtop. But I did get to try the Gibby one before in the sore... Long ago. Can't remember much, except that snake made my forearm itch! Hahahaha...

I own the Epiphone model but changed all the black hardware and the knobs so it looks more like the original by Gibson and put the Alnico II's in.

It's a nice guitar and I think it's superior to a regular Epiphone Les Paul.

I think the Gibson model is a killer one and far better than his lousy and boring second signature (with the piezo). I don't know why Slash used this great guitar just for the Ain't life grand tour in 2000 for just one song! The only reason for me would be it's too valuable for him for using it live so he keeps it locked away. I've never seen him nowadays with this signature again.

There was an Epi hanging in Sharky's Pawnshop for 4 years here in Calgary. I almost bought it for nostalgia-sake, but because it hung in the window for that long it was a dog to play, and had rusted out a bit. Boourns.

For sure! I've always wanted to buy an amber toggle switch knob but at some point I just felt right with this one. Another difference to the gibson model are the white humbucker mounting rings and the white tuning machine heads but these one aren't available for the mass market I think.
