Alpha pots are fine. I just don't agree with Asia's use of Linear pots, the B500k pots in this case. A500k audio taper logarithmic Alpha pots are a better choice. I use Bourns pots in my builds because I like the low turning torque and they have a very usable adjustment range.

I agree regarding Bourns pots, they are good quality have low turning torque and the adjustment range is great. The strange thing is that Gibson in recent times are using linear pots for volume as well. I've always felt that audio taper pots works best for volume...

I hate linear pots in my guitars!
