Slash LP Standard v 1999 Custom

Hi all,

I've currently got an almost new Slash LP Standard and i've been offered a trade for a '99 ebony Custom.

Now I like the Slash, but i strangely feel that because its limited I'm scared to use it incase I mark it (I know I may be mad), the custom is in excellent condition for almost 10 yrs old. (much better than my '97 classic)

What do people think? fair trade?

With some cash, yes. I love Customs, but the Slash is worth more. A trade plus $1,000, and I'd do it.

here in the UK the prices are about the same for both..

About the same I think. New Slash in the USA is about $2k? Something like that? New Custom is about $3,300. Used Custom around $2k most of the time. Probably a fair trade. Whichever one you like more, I guess.

I wouldn't let the "limited edition" nature of the Slash keep me from playing the crap out of it, though...

Well, then yeah, I would go for that. Only because I love Customs! I would still think that new Slash would be worth a little more than a '99 Custom...

Oh those are the DR Red Devils. I have pics in the "DR Strings" thread I started a while back and in one of the many Slash threads.

As far as the guys that don't sig's. I totally respect that and know where you are coming from. I fell in love with my Gibby Slash as a Standard first, I LOVE that damn guitar. I only bought the Epi because I got a great deal on it.
I just noticed, you can see some left over graphite from the nut on the head stocks.

I'd keep the one ya got and just play it. You obdviously picked it for a reason, don't think the swap such an awesome deal. Just my two cents.

Hmm.... decisions decisions... I was originally looking for a custom but the Slash came up for sale at a good price so I bought that.. but I think I still long for a custom..
