Site Not Secure?

I use a Safari browser on a Mac desktop.

Actually, I only get those Walmart gift card ads that take over on iPad — not on my desktop Mac. Conversely, I only get the “not secure” notice on my desktop. And I don’t have either of these problems logging on to the other sites I visit! I really don’t care who reads my MLP posts. My only concern is if the “not secure” means that a hacker can get into my computer and get info I don’t want the whole world to have.
