I had a Harley Benton GA5 (terribly bad sounding amp) modded into a 5F2A clone with no NFL, one 6V6GT and a Hammond OT. The perfect blues amp!!! With the mods it went from 0 to hero. Incredible change.
Volume knob goes. 0 to 3 - clean;4-6 - cooking and dynamic; 7-10 - N Young's filth. Love it and very loud for about 4 watts. Enough for a small gig and the low end looks after itself. Perfect in the mix. And you can always mike it up if required. Mind you, I had a post OT speaker out too. You never know what you're going to have.....

I posted all my low power amps about a month ago here:

24 watts, 8 amps

5 watters approx 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock and 6 o'clock.
My four lowest powered amps make 5 watts together

5 watt Champ clone bought as a B stock deal for £130. I keep debating putting it in a Tweed cab, but that would cost more than the amp did. Sounds great cranked up, especially with my Esquire.

I use the plexicake a lot. It's great fun.
The other was called the Aluminatti.. get it? but it was just a champ with a little extra hoo haa here and there.

Those 1482's are amazing too. I've got a fair amount of fun old stuff in my amp stash: the pair of 1482's, the Dano DM10, a couple of really cool mid century tube PA conversions one of which sounds like a legit '50s Fender tweed & a Plexi modded '71 Traynor YBA-1 that smokes every Marshall I've ever owned. Gotta have toys right?
