Rewired my 1989 MIK Epiphone Les Paul today since the shafts from my previous CTS pots were too long.

New Member here. Thought I'd share my guitar.

2004 Les Paul Classic Quilt Top. I bought it used in 2005 for $150. Been playing this one a lot! over 260 gigs in 2016. The pickups were changed out to some seymour duncans (don't remember what models). Painted pickup rings black, added a pickguard and the wiring was changed to master volume/master tone and a three way switch. Plays so well.

Hello !
Here's mine, a Birdseye from the Samick plant. Made in January 1995.
I got it from second hand in 1999 or 2000, I can't remember.
My previous guitar (and first) was a awful strat Rok Axe, 1.2 Kilos of... wood, if we can call it wood !
My only memory is me, sitting in the shop, taking the Les Paul without an amp and playing "Stairway to heaven", Wayne's World style !
And the sound was awesome. So it didn't take long for picking the guitar, I can tell you !
It was maybe €200 or €300, a fortune for me at that time. Now it's plugged in a Hugues & Kettner Club Reverb 65 watts, sometimes on a Boss GT3 or a Boss MT2, and it sounds still great !
I've only removed the pickguard. All is original. I'm planning to rewire it, change the potentiometer with CTS and maybe changing the humbuckers.
But as I don't play too much, I guess my wife will disagree !
I will carefully read this forum to know how to deal with the upgrade. :)

Thanks! Its a tough color to photograph. Its a bit darker green than what is showing up. But yeah, its rare. I have been looking for another one in that color for years and have never come across one.

Seeing this, inspired me to take the poker chip off my T+ tonight...
Looks so much better without it! Considering adding a pickguard though..

lineup.jpg

This is the current gig lineup.

Bonamassa goldtop - Rewired with CTS 550k pots and PiO caps. Faber Eserts, bridge, and TP bushings. Interesting speed knobs, swapped the kidneys for keystones.

Les Paul Special - Set neck. Rewired with CTS 500k pots and PiO caps. Bone nut. Black tophats. Also got the full Faber treatment and swapped the kidneys for pearloid keystones.

Masterbilt DR500MCE - didn't do a damned thing to it. It was perfect out of the box.

Les Paul PTP - Seymour Duncan 59/Custom Hybrid in the bridge, Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck. Rewired with 4 CTS 500k push/pull pots in Jimmy Page #2 configuration. Gold reflector tophats with pointers. Bone nut. Full Faber treatment. Swapped the kidneys with pearloid keystones.

Fender SRV Strat - No mods on this one either. It's a monster as is.

Most venues we play have enough room for me to gig all five. If space is tight, the :jb: GT is my number 1, the Strat Number 2, and the acoustic come out to play.

My new old '07 Les Paul Standard Plaintop. Was originally gonna get an SG Pro, but neither seller contacted, and then there's this. I kinda still prefer the SG's playability, but I like to have a bit of an adventure with another gril though. :naughty:

I need a better camera tho. :v
