Apologies if I missed it, but has a date been set for these to hit the stores?

On a side note, do you think the ‘old style models’ will be deeply discounted?

Maybe the other way around. They'll become collector items
That will require a major rock star coming out stating how he tried the new ones but the new headstock restricted the tone and he was going back to his older models.

Definitely going to pre order a limited edition '59!
Hopefully American dealers will find out when, and if they're on the list. So far the only info I've gotten has been from UK dealers. Anderson's is already taking preorders, but cannot sell to the US? They will have Rosewood boards, and teardrop bursts, 2 things a lot of folks were asking about.
Peace, Ebb

According to someone at my local shop, Epiphone were taking orders at NAMM and they would show up sometime in February. He also said that those who didn't order at NAMM would expect them to come in May or June. So I'm hoping that they were able to get a special order in so I can get it sooner rather than later.

Thinking of doing it for the Junior.

Been wanting Epiphone to have a set-neck Junior back in their line for YEARS.

I've spoken with Gibson/Epiphone, and the only info I could get regarding the release of the. 59 was late spring early summer. Even the big US dealers haven't received a SKU # to begin preorders, but they are being pre-ordered at UK stores, with strictly no sales to US buyers. I have a contact meeting the Gibson rep next week, so I should know when preorders start in the US.

Buying both the Epiphone made-in-U.S. es335 natural & a '59 Standard. Im on the fence for the U.S. Texan as well. But Im a electric player, getting a Texan is just for investment purposes

The Texan is as almost Gibson priced, and the only other USA made Epiphone is the Casino, which I'd like to get as well. I wish they'd make a 335Td in Walnut, with a trapeze tailpiece! I had to sell my mint '71 Gibson es335 TD, and they've just gotten too expensive for my current circumstances

It is absolutely beautiful! If I looked at it from the E tuners down, I'd swear it is a Gibson. I pray I'm lucky enough to get one of the evidently VERY LIMITED "59s! I can't find any US dealers who have them in their computers yet, and until they're issued a SKU#, they can't let you preorder them! UGH!!!!

Thanks, I am very happy with it.
It plays and sounds great too. It definitely has the 50s neck on it.

Good luck on finding the 59. Hopefully you will get lucky and find one.

Thank you, I've got really bad GAS for it!! If you listen to the Anderton's video of the '59, and the Modern, I've never heard a better sounding Paul of any kind. There may have been some knob turning, but it was fat, yet smooth as silk. It sounded as good, if not better than my 71 ES335 TD!!!! I just can't stop thinking about it. I'm so happy that Epiphone is making great sounding, and playing guitars that are accessable to those of us on a budget. I had to retire due to disability, and don't make $75-100 and hour, but a check from SSI for $800 a month. Thank God my house is paid for!!

I’ve preordered the modern in magma orange fade through sweet water and was told to expect it the last week of February (hard to wait this long). I cannot wait for the 59 in aged dark burst (which is currently showing on Andertons website as coming 17th of February ). These new models all look soooo good!

Yeah, Anderton's is getting them before any US dealers, they're already taking preorders, but can't sell any of the limited editions to US buyers. Epiphone needs to let us Yanks in on the fun!

Preordering the '59 in the dark burst first thing Monday morning. It's nice to have friends with connections. If it turns out to be true,( I'm pretty sure it is), I'll give everyone a heads up. I wish us all good luck!

My insanity over this guitar has kept me online, Googling every search term I could think of. My contact had told me that the Gibson rep said they wouldn't be ready until at least June. Well, this morning I checked Anderton's website to see what they were saying now, and their scheduled delivery date is March 16th? I can't believe that there could possibly be a 3 to 4 month difference between UK, and US release dates. I'm hoping delivery here will be close to that of the UK. Oh! Wouldn't that be a wonderful Easter surprise? Sorry I'm being obsessive, but I just can't stop thinking about it. I think the Cherry burst is too bright, so I'm thinking I'll get the Dark Burst. I'd really like your opinions about the color, and whether one will be worth more years down the road, and which will look better after a bit of aging,( if poly ages?). Please tell me what you think.
Peace, Ebb "the OCD" Ramone
