Here's a few photos of my 1976 El Maya Les Paul Custom copy in tobacco burst with Gibson speed knobs. Purchased new in 1976, I installed the Carvin pickups, Gibson pick guard, poker chip and knobs in the early 1980's.

Here you see some very rare MiJ (around 1981) knobs on my LP 'Flowers'.

Just took my '77 back to stock but added Gibson 'historic spec' pointers, after having Dimarzio Super Distortion pups and micro switches for single-phasing on the guitar for over 40 years. Guess I've become a traditionalist after all these years but love that guitar again like Day One! And just now realized I put the dials on the wrong way, not that anyone ever looks at that...

That’s a beauty. This is a Trad Pro that came with exposed pups and
Whatever you do, do not show me “your knob”. Show me your Non-Original LP knobs. Specifically if anyone has photos of a tobacco burst with either gold or black speed knobs (what I’m considering).

Also, curious if anyone uses different knobs for neck and bridge or tone and volume. Maybe someone has tried dome knobs or some other non-traditional knobs? Bottlecaps? Just saying, maybe someone likes to be different?

Tobacco burst now all chrome. These knobs function so much better than the tiny plastic. I'll actually be able to use them.

This is the Lou Pallo sig model Les Paul I acquired in 2016 . . .

. . . and I had read much earlier that Lou Pallo himself wanted the guitar to have cream-coloured pickup cover (on the P90) and frame (around the Dirty Fingers at the bridge) and switch chip. So after I got this guitar (it was NOS, to my amazement; nobody had even touched the guitar since it arrived until the California shop owner put it up on Reverb and lucky boy me I could get it!), I went to one of those sites where you could "build" your own guitar including Les Pauls, to see how Pallo's idea would look on the guitar. I liked it enough that I had it done to mine, with amber knobs . . .
