Hi!
Finally I'm back after a few years of not visiting this forum!

I'm in the mood for goldtop Les Paul Customs, preferably Norlin era and if possible well played in!

You don't seem to see a lot of goldtop LPCs, right?!

I didn't know there was such an animal. I'd love to see one.

Gibson did make some Pro Deluxe goldtops that look beautiful, ebony fretboard with a gold finish is a lovely combination.

I happen to have a '56 RI goldtop with an ebony fingerboard.

I've only ever seen two, factory-gold LPCs. One was an anniversery model, and the other was a custom job.

The only Les Paul Custom gold tops I’ve seen are the Classic models produced with baked maple boards or rosewood..... like these.

I know, Mudface.
But I'm specifically looking for 'real' les paul customs, not the 'classic custom' seires.

Apparantly they exist (not sure if they were mass produced or one-off's...

I'm thinking about finishing my '81 Japanese LPC project as an aged Goldtop (not sure about the back: darkback/ natural/ all gold finish) with aged nickel hardware...

thank you Musicmaniac, but I know how to use google... :)

None of those pictures, except for maybe 2% of them are Les Paul Customs :);
there's a lot to find about gold classic customs and 'standards' made in the custom shop... but not about 'regular' les paul customs;

And I was wondering if any of the members over here have one?

Refinish....might be the pic, but color does not look good at all on the 78 posted.

You are not going to find a factory GTC unless it was truly a "one-off", or that "all gold" thing they did a few of (was that the anniversary model mentioned above?), and there were only a handful of those, as well as I remember....it looked awful.

this is an '78 I found online

^ Might be most 'unique' for its irony - as the main benefit of M2M is the hand selection of the top wood.

Interesting... Looks more "coppery" than the original GT.

I like it.

Not really. Aside from a refin, where else could someone get a cherry LPC 57 3pu with a bigsby. If I had the money...

There's also a guy here who got a M2M gulf livery Les Paul that looks great.

Yeah, Sorry…that just does not look like a regular Gibson gold top finish.

Nothing wrong with it, but it does not look like a GT….neither did that “bullion” thing they did.
