Hey Slap, that is freakily similar to how mine looked(got it in 1982), even the GS stripes (mine wasn't a GS). I put a GT bonnet on mine too, and had the fake air ducts for rear guards ready to fit, + put the replica XY boot wing on. I blacked the wheel arch contour + sill lines like a GT, + rear panel, and colour coded the bumpers. I hadn't even seen Mad Max, just wanted a coupe since I was 12. I shoulda kept saving for a GT, but mine came up for sale from an ex-school guy, and I had to get my mobility happenin':D I never kept a photo of it- this has jolted some great memories, I can hear the bugger howling and the juice being sucked thru the Holley 600 :dude: Bogan, yeah.

we (family) had an XA 4 door & XB panel van in the late 70s growing up.In '92 when i got my L's I bought an XC coupe (which I eventually wrapped around a telegraph pole).Diabolical test to get my P's guy didn't pay any attention to my driving just talked cars for half an hour while we cruised he loved it.During the "3 point turn" i promptly just dropped a set and he laughed took a point off though but still passed me :thumb:

That's what I find the most interesting too. The people who have spoken up the loudest in this thread are people I have NEVER seen post before in Other Les Pauls.

And even now that they have posted here, none of them have bothered to post anything to the other threads on this forum.

Not sure who you're referring to. But I've spoken pretty loudly in this thread, and I am a regular contributor. Though, with a few exceptions, I don't typically post unless I have a point or points to make. Therein lies another problem with being arbiter of how much a person should post and what they get in return: some people post a lot of just "banter" comments (which is fine!), and some people (like me) don't usually bother posting unless we've got something we feel fairly strongly about. I mean, I could post "lol" here and there or a funny .gif, and have three times the post count, but it wouldn't change what I've actually brought to the table knowledge-wise. And, trust me, I'm not criticizing people who post funny .gifs. I love funny .gifs.

And trust me: i love LOOKING at drool-o-rama photos and funny GIFs. So I'm not complaining. Part of the problem is that I just don't have a lot of good photos or funny GIFs.

BGD you contribute a lot. Anyone who engages in banter in this OLP forum is a contributor. This is a community.

I was referring to members we've never seen post here before in OLP weigh in with an indignant attitude and take pot shots at me for *daring* to start a thread like this - when clearly there are also others here who were having similar thoughts to me.

Most people who came in all guns blazing didnt even understand the question... and thats what the thread was: a question designed to encourage discussion on this issue.

And its not like I started this train of thought - we've already seen changes to the way we now post auction details because some members didn't like having their auction bids bettered by snipers who didnt even bother to do their own research.

Thats what this thread was meant to be - simply a discussion on a prickly topic. We've all got our own opinions and we are all adults so we can discuss it sensibly.

Yet as noted, the ones who came in all guns blazing and with the worst attitudes were the ones who dont even post in OLP at all.

Tokai LS 150 Loverock 1981 Limited Custom Ordered Solid Maple Model RARE | eBay

Never knew they existed. Too broke to buy one. It's yours. Then I read the listing more carefully. It is not solid maple, just the top, as though that would be a big deal. The guitar is heavier than my brother, and he is really heavy. Typical MIJ listing, overinflated, bad English, made to sound exotic. Convince me otherwise.

That's been there for ages. No proof it's a 150. I'd say an 80 or 100 with swapped pickups. :hmm:

Great looking guitar though. :thumb:
