this morning after playing for a couple of hours, the tip of my ring finger started hurting. It feels like a jolt of electricity going through my finger tip whenever i try to play guitar or type on the keyboard.
not too worried about it but, it's starting to get a bit annoying especially since I'm totally in the mood to jam right now.
anyone else get this?

Yep, nowadays it's mostly my pinky that gets like that.

I know exactly what you're going through. I used to get it all the time in my middle finger, and i still get it sometimes.

If you hit and damage a nerve in your finger tip you'll get that feeling of a 'jolt of electricity' even when you touch your finger tip lightly.

It usually takes around a day to disappear for me, and i don't really get them as much ever since i increased my string gauge  It really is VERY annoying as the pain kinda travels down your whole finger, and whenever you get it my only advice really is stop playing until it gets better :thumb:

I find putting an ice cube against your fingertip can help dull it down a bit and further help it heal :) I guess it's simply just something that will happen and you eventually get used to it.

I have developed quite a different problem, the joint on the end of my middle finger on my strumming hand locks up every now and again, which is really quite painful. Years of hammering my fingers against my strings is to blame

I had a friend that complained of pains in his fingers a few weeks ago. Two days later, dead.

I get a numb sensation in my first finger of my fretting hand, that feeling you get when you trap a nerve and it kinda goes dead.......

I had that happen on my ring finger while fretting a note. I could have sworn a piece of the string came undone and stabbed me, by the way it felt. No hole or blood so I thought hmmm. :hmm:
