Not sure if im posting in the right section, but on the old wrap around on my jr, over time the strings have worn a groove into it. But on the B String is it deepest and is sharp enough that quite often it breaks the string.

The string always breaks in the same place so i know thats the issue. So am i better off replacing it, or is there a way of filling in these grooves or grinding them down?

Thanks in advance.

You can buy a replacement from Stew-Mac for $20 plus shipping:

SG and junior bridge

Or look ebay's online parts stores, allparts, etc.

If you file it down, you will take off the chrome plating, and it will rust in short order, due to the sweat on your hands.
