Could be "legit" and they are just too lazy to take their own pics.

Lol, 1600 bucks for a used '61 RI SG? Yeah, I've had my pics used in the past and there are some shady mofo's out there.

People just plain suck.

Now I’ve sold guitars before and it’s completely understandable for them to use photos I took of it but at that point... it’s theirs.. but to use photos of a guitar they don’t own...

First - he never said it was not counterfeit - he simply assured any buyers it is not the counterfit model - this one evidently will not fit upon a counter.

Secondly, he is doing what he has to do - perhaps someone is holding him hostage until he post their scam on his Facebook account and Reverb in a blackmail situation - perhaps someone with Reverb is in on the situation as they also made him list it as mint and post photos of the actual guitar (even though he does not have it in his possession).

Thirdly, somehow he gets a "special" deal from Sweetwater - where he gets a discounted price - but somehow also is losing $200 on the deal....not sure how that one works really. Guy off the street gets this for $1799 with no coupons - the insider with the special pricing pays $1,799.

I do believe he is honest though - he is not sitting in China waiting to screw you.....Nigeria is a long way from China and he does intend on having Sweetwater deliver a guitar....its them he plans on screwing using stolen cards. Much better for business - deliver a real guitar to a real person once - screwing the merchant - then steal buyers info and rinse/repeat on the next deal.
