I went to the movies twice to see it but I peeked in on the RedBox today and saw it so I just thought what the heck one more time. I just love this movie, so many cool nods to Bond movies past. Any other Bond fans think this is one of the best Bond films ever? I'm a Connery guy but Craigs era Bond is just top notch. I recently watched a Roger Moore Bond outing and had a hard time finishing it off it was almost comical. This era of Bond has better scripts, acting, actors, action, everything really. Oh yeah and great vintage beginning and theme song too.

Can't wait to see it again, loved it in the theatre. Roger Deakins did the cinematography(digital, no less) and I think that's part of why the movie is so good. It's very pretty

Still, it's no Casino, which I think is top 3 best Bonds ever, easy

(uhh, but I love Moore and Dalton, and never want to see a Brosnan Bond again, so take this fwiw)

I like all three Craig outings even Quantam Of Solace which I thought was much better then most people seemed to think. Brosnan was a bore to me even though I thought he would be the perfect Bond, the scripts and action were just average to my way of thinking. Moore is a guilty pleasure as his films suffer today as less then stellar film making and they got too jokey for me. Skyfall rivals Royale, maybe better, who knows I love em both.

it was the best movie i have seen in a few years
kind of a throwback to the original days, minus the humor

Craig and the new Bond films are some of my favorites. I'd rank Casino Royale and Skyfall right up there with Connery's great Bond films - IMHO.

Interesting, I thought it was the first Craig Bond film that actually had the old humor.

Garbage movie, big disappointment. Was barely even better than Quantom of Solace which was terrible. The series really went downhill after Casino Royale.

Hope the next are better

I really enjoyed Skyfall and it gave me hope that the series will continue to get better. Quantum of Solace bored me to death and the only parts I really enjoyed of that film were the beginning and the end. The villain was not really threatening in any way and Bond was more endangered by his own agency and the CIA than he was by the villain.

I like Craig in the role and his next couple of movies will determine where he finishes up in the Bond ratings. Right now he's 2 for 3 and I'll put him in the top 3.

As far as past Bonds go, to me Connery is unassailable and the battle is for 2nd place. Last place for me is Moore, his Bond was more Maxwell Smart than James Bond.

Brosnan came to the role too late. He would have been a much better Bond in his Remington Steele days and he was too well known for other roles when his turn as Bond finally came around.

I liked Dalton and I even liked Lazenby much better than Moore. Lazenby could have been a contender if he hadn't bailed on the series in fear of being typecast.

So right now, I have Connery, Dalton, Craig, Brosnan, Lazenby and Moore holding up the rear.

The funny but sad thing for Lazenby is it didn't take him long to discover the difference between the fear of being type cast and being cast in anything at all. He really F'd up big time when he decided the hippie thing was the wave of the future.
