I was seriously eyeballing an epiphone special in tv yellow, but decided against it.

I bought my son a tele for his first guitar. Mostly because it’s durable, also very affordable, and I’ve heard great things about the affinity series. He’s playin guitar in school band this year. 5th grade. We have a katana 50 for him to mess with and I’m probably going to punch him in the mouth after I string him up with 8’s. He’s never been too excited about my guitar habit, so we will see how it plays out. Worst case scenario, I’ve got a tele to mess with until son #2 (looking like he’s a GD lefty) is in band in 8 years. He seems slightly more interested in music at 2.5 yo.

MF had those butterscotch teles for $150. They are bullets though and not the affinity series.

got one for my son who said he wanted to learn chords, etc. seems to have zero interest now. :(
I just found one on CL for 100$. But a 6 hour round trip. This was 250$. Got maple fret board. I’m looking forward to “setting it up” lol.

Oh well I guess you got a tele!

I prefer the CV and VM Squiers but there are jewels in the Affinity line too.....Bullets can be pretty good too... Jack Pearson likes to play Bullet Strats... He said in an interview he loves the cheap pickups because they sound vintage to him...

99% of current production guitars are better than the junk I learned on. Kids got it easy these days. They better enjoy it while it lasts, cause it could get nasty in the future.

As far as the lefty, he better learn to play them upside down or hes got a pile of expensive useless shit coming to him. The upcoming V90 build may work for him, as well as the double cut jr. I guess the 335’s could work too.

He will learn to shoot right handed. No choice in that.

Jack is an absolute beast. I still say the best version of ABB after Duane's passing was Jack and Dickey on guitar

Punching a lil kid in the mouth, judging a baby for being a GD lefty, and posting a post-change diaper photo. Accidentally pornographing your own son...priceless.

Holy shit this is one fucked up thread

"punched in the mouth" refers to a troll thread that went viral, about "anybody who uses light gauge strings ought to be punched in the mouth".

Any regular back here knows that.

Obviously you don't.

"lefty" refers to being left-handed. Like me. Not left politically. We don't do politics here, so stop looking for it where it isn't applied.

And your post report? -priceless.

Try not to waste our time with nonsense, okay?
