Well, Seattle did it they set a new record for most number of 90-degree days in a year yesterday. Ten! And they are likely to tack on at least one more today, with a high of 91 in the forecast, and the heat advisory has been extended into Sunday.
Its not only been hot, though, its also been extremely dry. According to the National Weather Service, Seattle also set a new record for driest May 1 to July 31, with just 0.9 inches. The previous dries period was 1.73 inches back in 2003.

Given the outlook, Mass suspects the regions water managers to elevate the situation over the next few weeks, possibly placing limits on the amount of water that can be used for watering lawns.
As of this week, the entire state of Washington is in at least severe drought, and 32 percent is in extreme drought.
